About This Policy

This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies that our website, scne.ae, uses. It is part of our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use personal data in the SCNE app and on our website.

SCNE is operated by SCNE Influence Technologies FZCO, a free zone company licensed by the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (licence no. 86459), of Premises DSO-IFZA, IFZA Properties, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai, UAE ("SCNE", "we", "us").

What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Some websites also use your browser's storage, such as session storage, in a similar way. In this policy we call all of these "cookies".

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.

Essential Cookies

These are needed for parts of our website to work. They are set only if you sign in to the SCNE partner help centre.

  • scne_help: keeps a partner signed in to the help centre. It lasts up to 90 days.
  • scne_help_bo: slows down repeated wrong passwords on the help centre sign-in, to protect it from misuse. It lasts up to 1 hour.

Functional Cookies

  • scne_ref: when you open a friend's SCNE invite link on our website, this cookie remembers which member invited you, so that we can link the two accounts if you join, as described under "Referrals" in our Privacy Policy. It lasts 7 days.
  • scne_attribution: when you arrive on our website from a link, your browser's session storage keeps the campaign tags on that link (utm tags, or a code such as the one on our printed QR codes), the website that sent you and the page you first landed on. It is kept only for that visit. If you join the waitlist, we save it with your sign-up, as described under "Where you came from" in our Privacy Policy.

Analytics Cookies

Our website uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google. It tells us how people use the website, for example the pages viewed, how long visits last, the website that sent you, and your browser, operating system, device type and IP address. When someone joins the waitlist, we also tell Google Analytics the type of sign-up and the campaign it came from, but not the person's name or contact details. We use this to understand and improve our website and our campaigns.

  • _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID: set by Google Analytics to tell visits and visitors apart. They last up to 2 years.

Google is a separate company that uses this data under its own privacy policy, at https://policies.google.com/privacy, and may process it outside the UAE. You can stop Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits with Google's opt-out add-on for your browser, at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

HubSpot on Our Pages for Businesses

On our website pages for venues and other partner businesses we also use HubSpot, the customer relationship management (CRM) service we use for partner sales. These pages are scne.ae/for-venues, scne.ae/guide/partners and the partner information packs we share with businesses, and also our contact page, scne.ae/contact, and our business-card page, scne.ae/card, which members can open too. HubSpot does not run on any other page.

On these pages HubSpot records the pages you view and when, the website that sent you, and the links and buttons you click, together with details of your browser and device and your IP address. It also works out a fingerprint of your browser, a value calculated from details such as its fonts, screen and settings, so that it can recognise the browser on a later visit. When you follow a link on these pages to apply as an SCNE partner, we add HubSpot's identifier for your browser (the hubspotutk cookie below) to that link. If you then apply, we can link these visits to your application in our partner sales records, as described under "Partner Sales Records" in our Privacy Policy. What you type into forms on our website, such as the contact form or the waitlist, is never sent to HubSpot.

Your choice. The first time you open one of these pages, HubSpot shows a notice. HubSpot's cookies are used unless you choose Decline. If you decline, or turn HubSpot off here, HubSpot stops on that page and we no longer load it in this browser, so it no longer records your visits or works out a fingerprint. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we never load HubSpot. Deleting HubSpot's cookies in your browser settings does not stop the fingerprint; declining, or turning HubSpot off here, does.

The cookies HubSpot may set for scne.ae:

  • hubspotutk: HubSpot's identifier for your browser. It recognises repeat visits and lets us link them to a partner application. It lasts 6 months.
  • __hstc: records your first, previous and latest visit to these pages and how many visits you have made. It lasts 6 months.
  • __hssc: counts the pages you view in one visit. It lasts 30 minutes.
  • __hssrc: tells HubSpot when your browser has restarted, so that it can count a new visit. It is deleted when you close your browser.
  • __hs_cookie_cat_pref: remembers your answer to HubSpot's notice. It lasts 6 months.
  • __hs_do_not_track: remembers that you declined HubSpot's cookies or turned HubSpot off. It lasts 6 months.

Because these cookies are set for scne.ae, your browser also sends them to our other scne.ae pages and to our partner portal at behindthe.scne.ae, but HubSpot's code runs only on the pages listed above. HubSpot's content delivery network may also set __cf_bm (30 minutes), __cfruid and __cfuvid (deleted when you close your browser) on HubSpot's own domains, to protect its service from automated traffic.

Our partner portal. When you open our partner portal at behindthe.scne.ae, or start an application to partner with SCNE in the SCNE app, your browser's session storage keeps, for that visit only, the campaign tags on the link that brought you, HubSpot's identifier for your browser (never if you declined HubSpot's cookies), which app or browser the link was opened in, the type of device and its operating system, so that they can be saved with your application, as described under "Partner Sales Records" in our Privacy Policy. Closing the browser tab clears them.

HubSpot provides this service to us and stores the data in the European Union. HubSpot's privacy policy is at https://legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy.

How We Measure Our Marketing

Our own record of how people find SCNE uses these cookies and your browser's storage:

  • scne_vid: a random visitor number that lets us see which of our campaigns and links bring people to SCNE, as described under "How We Measure Our Marketing" in our Privacy Policy. It is shared by scne.ae, our partner portal and our web app, and a copy is kept in your browser's local storage. It lasts up to 13 months.
  • scne_vs: tells one visit from the next. It ends when you close your browser or after 30 minutes without activity.
  • scne_measure: remembers that you switched this measurement off. It lasts 13 months.

We record nothing when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. You can switch this measurement off for this browser here:

Blocking or Deleting Cookies

Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies and other site data in their settings, usually under Privacy or Privacy and security. Closing the browser tab clears session storage. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to stay signed in to the partner help centre.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will publish the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
