Restaurant promotion apps in Dubai fall into three groups: offer networks with their own members, such as The ENTERTAINER, Smiles and SupperClub; dine-in discount apps where guests pay the bill through the app, such as Careem DineOut; and listings you run yourself, such as Google Business Profile, which is free. SCNE is a lifestyle membership app for Dubai: you list your restaurant on a free plan, set a member offer on the days and times you choose, and members book through your own booking system and use the offer in person. The apps, compared

  • The ENTERTAINER. Members buy a yearly membership of mostly buy-one-get-one-free offers on dining, activities, wellness and hotels. Restaurants apply through its Become a Partner form; it does not publish fees.
  • Smiles (e&). Dine-in vouchers alongside food and grocery delivery. Partners are promoted through in-app banners, notifications and email, and terms vary by business type and offer, with a tailored proposal.
  • SupperClub. A dining and lifestyle membership for top restaurants and five-star hotels; members book offers through SupperClub, with unlimited bookings and unlimited guests.
  • Careem DineOut. Careem's dine-out service: diners find restaurants and get discounts when they pay the bill through DineOut.
  • Google Business Profile. Free, and it controls how your restaurant appears on Google Search and Maps. Keep your opening hours, photos and booking link current.
  • SCNE for Venues. Your venue page in the app's categories, search and map, a member offer you set on the days and times you choose, with a limit on uses per member each month, events and deals such as a business lunch, and a Book button that opens your own booking system. A free plan with no setup fee.
  • Reservations and guest CRMs. SevenRooms and Eat App help you market to the guests you already have: SevenRooms captures guest data and sends SMS and email campaigns, and Eat App publishes its prices, including a free plan.

How to choose

  • New guests or regulars? If the tables are empty, start with a network that sends people. If people come once and don't return, start with your own guest tools.
  • What can you afford to give? A 2-for-1 gives away the second dish; money off the bill or a set-price lunch can cost you less.
  • Which days and hours? Keep offers off your busiest services. On SCNE you choose the days and times an offer runs.
  • Who holds the booking? Bookings in your own system stay yours. Ask each network what you will see: redemptions, bookings or spend.
  • Dine-in or delivery? Delivery apps fill the kitchen, not the dining room. For covers, choose apps that bring people in.

How to test a promotion app in four weeks

  1. 1Pick one quiet slot. Choose the service you most want to fill, such as weekday lunch or Monday and Tuesday evenings.
  2. 2Set one clear offer. One offer for that slot only, such as money off the food bill from Monday to Thursday afternoon.
  3. 3Brief your team. Show the team how the offer is redeemed at the till, so no guest waits.
  4. 4Count what it brought. Each week, note redemptions, bookings and how many guests came back.
  5. 5Keep it or change it. After four weeks keep what filled tables, and change the offer, the slot or the app if it did not.
